Specialising in Jazz, Latin American and Blues the Ladywood Community School of Music aims to bring affordable, quality musical tuition to the heart of Ladywood. We cater for children and adults of all ages and abilities. We currently run classes on the Saxophone, Violin, Piano/Keyboards, Guitar and Drums* and students have the opportunity to develop and showcase their talents through Band development Workshops and concerts put on by the School, as well as at gigs where Andy Hamilton showcases new talent. Classes are between 5 and 7 on Thursday evenings, priced £2.00(conc) or £3.00(full). *We can teach other instruments subject to interest. |
Music School Patron, Andy Hamilton has been awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours. Andy, who lives around the corner from the Community centre where we hold our lessons, won the award for services to music in Birmingham.
Movie footage and photos from our December Concert performance and rehearsal are now up in our EVENTS section.
We now have photos and video from the Bobby Wellins Saxophone Workshop on 25th October in our EVENTS section.
There's updated video footage and photos of Isaiah Williams and his Dad playing at Bearwood Corks Club, the Drum and the Symphony Hall along with more footage and photos of other Sax students playing with Andy Hamilton & The Blue Notes and The Notebenders Bog Band in the JAMMING area of our EVENTS section

Trumpet & FluteThe Ladywood Community School of Music can now teach the Trumpet and the Flute. We have now recruited Alvin Davis to replace our current Saxophone tutor while he is away on a rolling contract, and, as Alvin can teach Trumpet and Flute as well as Sax we can use the opportunity to expand the range of instruments we offer.
